Course Description
This course is designed to develop a basic understanding of surveillance techniques for Transportation Inspectors in support of the Certified Cargo Screening Program. The objective is to provide instruction in surveillance techniques to fit the needs of Transportation personnel assigned to such duties in the performance of their job. Classroom training will be reinforced by practical exercises. |

LSI Instructors
J. Branch Walton - 42 years experience in security-law enforcement- adult education fields. Currently holds position of Associate Dean of Student Services at Henley-Putnam University. Retired U S Secret Service and former NCIS criminal investigator. Past Director of Corporate Security for Cummins Engine Co and former Manager of Training for Operations at Ft Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Past employment included operational and instructional experience in surveillance techniques. Mr Walton has also taught this topic to various groups at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Indiana University CJ Department, and Miami Dade College security programs.
Bobby Ricks - Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Homeland Security and Law Enforcement Programs at Midway College. He is a Certified Instructor for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training, where he taught law and law enforcement techniques, including surveillance techniques, at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training. Bobby has practical experience in surveillance as a Police Officer and as a Special Agent, Federal Bureau of Investigation.
